Last weekend, Town Hall Symphony Hall's Live in the Lodge choir, ukuleles, guitars, drummer and spoken word participants performed as part of the Sutton Concerts in the Park event.
The choir performed on the main stage to their biggest audience to date and did a fantastic job filling the park with song. Later in the day we also heard from our ukulele, guitar, drums and spoken word participants in a more intimate performance on the Acoustic Stage.
It was fantastic to share the success and talent of all the participants from the Live in the Lodge music programme; Town Hall Symphony Hall’s year round community-led music programme based out of Falcon Lodge Community Centre.
The choir and instrumentalists have a busy month ahead with the Choir performing in the foyer performance as part of THSH’s Community Spirit event next Sunday 8 July, whilst the ukuleles perform as part of the Sutton Coldfield in Bloom judging event on the 19 July.
A highlight will be the end of term Summer Concert on the 11 July at the Falcon Lodge Community Centre where all the participants will share what they’ve been working on this term. With special guest performances and free pizza, we celebrate another fantastic year of music making at Live in the Lodge. This event starts from 5:15pm and is free to attend.
Live In The Lodge is produced by Town Hall Symphony Hall and Mubu Music and is kindly funded by the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust and Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council.
Free music lessons for the residents of Falcon Lodge are just one of the many ways we connect over 15,000 young people and adults to a world of music and performance. To find out how you can help that work continue visit thsh.co.uk/join-and-support.
We will be taking on new participants from September, so if you live, work or go to school in the Falcon Lodge area and would like to get involved or find out more, contact Becky Woodcock, Project Manager (Learning and Participation team)firstname.lastname@example.org or 0121 644 6051
