Musical Picnic News

On Saturday 6th May 2017, a group of 11- 14 year olds will be taking over the Musical Picnic!

After 5 months of hard work and creativity THSH’s Takeover Birmingham Club will be running the Musical Picnic taking on the roles of Front of House Stewards, Artist Liaison and Marketing. During a series of visits to Symphony Hall the group have been learning everything there is to know about Musical Picnics from how the Front of House staff prepare the space to how the Production staff ensure that the sound is right.

After a masterclass from our Musical Picnic programmer, Mubu Music the group also gained the skills needed to programme the event. A unanimous decision was made and Will Pound and Eddy Jay were selected to perform as the group believed they were perfect for the target audience of 0-7 year olds; exciting, different and great to dance to!

The club has also enabled the young people to engage with the Arts across the city, including an extra special visit to the British Paraorchestra Concert in Symphony Hall and visiting fellow Takeover Clubs across Birmingham.
