Nicola Benedetti honoured in New Year Honours 2019

Violinist Nicola Benedetti has been awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours list 2019. With concerto performances at the heart of her career, Nicola is in much demand with major orchestras and conductors across the globe and will perform at Birmingham's Town Hall in 2019.

Nicola – who was awarded an MBE in 2013 and the Queen’s Medal for Music in 2016 – is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. Her ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicianship and dynamic presence, coupled with her wide appeal as a high-profile advocate for classical music, has made her one of the most influential classical artists of today.

I am very grateful to receive this honour. Thank you. This meaningful public recognition encourages me to deepen my commitment to music, to playing and to providing enrichment, inspiration and variation to the education system that serves communities throughout the UK.
