The astounding beauty of the natural world will be brought to life on screen and stage by a special production – which marries HD footage from a landmark BBC series with George Fenton’s score performed live by the Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted by the composer – at Symphony Hall on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 September.

Planet Earth in Concert presents striking imagery of magnificent landscapes and incredible creatures from across the globe – originally captured for the first natural history series to be filmed entirely in high definition – together with an amazing score performed live by one of the world’s leading orchestras, resulting in a life-affirming and inspiring concert experience.

To see Planet Earth in the concert hall is a completely different experience from any other way of seeing this footage. With an 80 piece orchestra and huge screen, it becomes an immersive experience, something to share and celebrate. For the musicians and myself Planet Earth is always a special night.

– George Fenton

Planet Earth in Concert played six major cities in the US in 2010 breaking audience figures in Chicago, and received its London premiere in November 2011.

Town Hall and Symphony Hall* have premiered and hosted a number of major film and live music presentations over the past few years, including The Blue Planet, Nosferatu, Metropolis, A Throw of Dice, Mother India, The Planets – An HD Odyssey, Polar, The Sinking of the Titanic and Dracula.
