Region's choirs Sing For All

Eleven choirs from across the Midlands are looking forward to a special showcaseconcert at Birmingham’s landmark Town Hall onSunday 15 May.
They will be joining professional choirs for the culmination of Sing for All: CommunitySpirit, a celebration of the region’s exciting and diverse community choral talent. Thechoirs – whose musical styles range from folk and gospel to barber shop and classical –will perform a range of works by local composers and arrangers, many of them writtenspecially for the occasion.

Birmingham Women?s Choir (gospel & spiritual)
Lichfield Gospel Choir (gospel & spiritual), Lichfield
Second City Sound (barbershop), Great Barr

Organised by Town Hall & Symphony Hall?s Education & Community Department, Sing for All offers professional singing training and performance opportunities to all parts of the community, with funding from the Peter and Jane How Trust, patrons of the singing programme.

Community Spirit, now in its second year, was formed in partnership with leading female a-capella group and Town Hall Associate Artists Black Voices and aims to celebrate and support community choirs as well as invest in new music. Following a series of workshops, led by the local composers and arrangers whose works will be performed at the concert, all the choirs join together for the showcase at Town Hall with Black Voices, Ex Cathedra and the Town Hall Gospel Choir.
