Review: The 3 Little Pigs arrive at Town Hall!

As a musical theatre lover and Strictly Come Dancing fan, our Customer & Insight Manager Chloe went to see the premiere of Stiles and Drewe’s The 3 Little Pigs at Town Hall. Here’s what she thought…

Having performed in Stiles and Drewe’sHonk! I was expecting their new show to have witty lyrics, catchy tunes, and lots of laughs for the kids and grown-ups. And it didn’t disappoint.

An all-singing, all-dancing musical adaptation of the traditional tale, The 3 Little Pigs is a heartwarming story about working together, and family.

The show begins in the house that Bar, Be and Que (the aptly named pigs) share with their Mum, where they play piggy in the middle, and even take selfies on stage! Understandably, living with three young piggies means the house is a Real Pigsty. So the piglets are packed off with their pignics into the big wide world beyond the window, where they each don a yellow hard hat and build a house for themself. Of course they are all hunted by the Big Bad Wolf, who assures us he is just a bit ‘misunderstood’ – but will he succeed in huffing and puffing down their houses?

Simon Webbe plays a cheeky Big Bad Wolf, getting the little ones laughing and delighting the audience with his impressive ‘wolftrot’. I especially like the references to Strictly Come Dancing in his performance that I’m sure all the parents will enjoy! Hear what Simon has to say about the show by clicking here.

The harmonies of the whole cast are fantastic, and each performer gets a chance to show off their vocal talents in short solo songs, all of which are so catchy I was singing all the way home (until I went to choir!)

With lots of singing, dancing, and hogs and kisses from Mum, this is a great show for young children and their families. Oink oink!

There are lots of pig tales big and small, but we think the greatest one of all is the one to do with one, two, three little pigs.
