Irish music sensation Nathan Carter comes to Town Hall this Sunday. Ahead of the concert Rookie Reviewer Zoe Lumsden gives us a preview.
This weekend, Irish country singer Nathan Carter will visit the Town Hall as part of his UK Tour. Nathan has become a huge attraction on the Irish music scene, engaging new generations and encouraging listeners of all ages to explore country music in Ireland. Performing with his band, since 2009 he has captivated audiences all over Ireland, the UK and beyond with his mellow vocals and lyrical melodies.
Nathan has recorded five albums – Starting Out, The Way You Love Me, Time Of My Life, Wagon Wheel and his latest release Where I Wanna Be which recently reached number one position in the Irish Album Charts.
Where I Wanna Be features many of Nathan’s original songs but also the occasional cover, including a cover of a song by American folk rock band The Lumineers, contributing to Carter’s appeal to younger generations.
Alongside his six-piece band, Nathan Carter looks set to charm Birmingham audiences with his contemporary take on Irish folk traditions.
Zoe Lumsden is a bassoonist and student of Music & Modern Languages (French & German) at the University of Birmingham.
