Earlier this week, THSH invited local bloggers with children to enjoy a post-Christmas performance of Scamp Theatre's award-winning production of Stick Man.

Scamp Theatre's adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s hugely popular children’s book follows the adventures of Stick Man who, in becoming separated from his family tree, goes on an exciting journey to find his way home.

Full to bursting with energy, catchy music and sharp, carefully choreographed movement, this stage adaptation does wonders in bringing the story to life.

Three actors use an impressive mix of puppetry, songs, live music and audience participation to portray Stick Man's adventurous and often dangerous ordeal. Scamp Theatre introduce the audience to many vibrant and exciting characters along the way, including a child who mistakes Stick Man for a Pooh Stick, a Swan who thinks he's a Twig and even a surprise visit from Santa himself!

the actors were energetic and the simple yet clever way they used the stage design and props was fascinating to watch and really gave the whole production a magic feel for the children.

To Become Mum

Of course, the big question is whether this hugely popular children’s book really does guarantee festive family-fun? Well, who better to answer that than these parents with young children who happen to have their very own blogs!
