Ukulele learners meet Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has become a global sensation and nothing short of a UK national treasure. After their performance at Symphony Hall on Thursday 7 December, the all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players were introduced to a group of learners from Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield.

Since 2015 in Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield, Town Hall Symphony Hall have supported a community-led programme of music, Live in the Lodge. In addition to regular performances, concerts and gigs, featuring both residents and professional touring artists, there is also an ever-growing community choir, performances for local primary schools and weekly instrumental lessons on guitar, drums and...the ukulele!

The Ukes of GB have performed for the British Royal Family and at the BBC Proms, providing pure entertainment, dead-pan British humour and irresistible foot-tapping music. They are masters of the unexpected, whether re-imagining folk songs, twisting classical music favorites, uncovering quirky versions of rock covers, or playing the performers' own all-original compositions.

Live In The Lodge is produced by Town Hall Symphony Hall and Mubu Music and  is kindly funded by the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust and Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council.
Free music lessons for the residents of Falcon Lodge are just one of the many ways we connect over 15,000 young people and adults to a world of music and performance. To find out how you can help that work continue visit
