Guest Blog: Front of House Manager Aimee Whatson on Volunteers' week

Front of House Manager Aimee Whatson shares her experiences at last week's Volunteer Fair.

To kick off Volunteer’s Week (1-7June) THSH attended the Volunteer Fair at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Saturday 1 June.

THSH currently have a small pool of volunteers, but on Saturday managed to double that amount with people registering interest and signing up to become a volunteer.

THSH volunteers also got the opportunity to meet other volunteers from the Birmingham Arts scene and as a special thank you to them for all the hard work they do, have their photo taken on the Birmingham Repertory Theatre Stage. Cllr Mohammed Azim and Lady Mayoress Bushra Bi also attended the photo call and assisted in giving out raffle prizes to the volunteers that attended.

Between March 18 and April 19 over 1,500 people across Birmingham gave a total of 40,353 volunteer hours and THSH volunteers have 772 hours between them.

We really value our volunteers and like to show recognition for all the hard work they do. Last month, the volunteers had a coffee and cake afternoon, where they got to chat about experiences with each other and also liaise with Heads of Departments from Town Hall Symphony Hall and the Front of House Management team.

THSH are always on the lookout for new volunteers, so if you fancy it, click here to find out more.
