How did you get to be a THSH Tour Guide?

I have worked at THSH for over 3 years and during that time have seen previous tours around the building. I wanted to share my enjoyment of the two buildings with others as well as my unique training point, coming from the technical team.

What do you particularly like about Town Hall?

I like how the historic building can host such modern events like the Commonwealth Games hand over, Rag 'n' Bone Man whilst still hosting classical orchestras, choirs and organ concerts almost back to back.

What do you particularly like about Symphony Hall?

Symphony Hall has a sound quality and acoustics combined with a breath taking view that you never get used to.

What is your favourite memory of working at THSH?

Sound engineering for Stephen Fry's book launch was a career highlight as he has such an iconic voice and he is socially so well known and Evacuation training from the canopy of Symphony Hall - Abseiling through 18 metres of open space above that stage is, for me, magical.

Do you have preferred type of music, a conductor or genre?

I enjoy the funk and soul artists that we host.
